HOsiHO Drone Pilots Network

French Drone Operators Network

Special French cities during the lockdown at Covid-19,

filmed by the drones of our UAV pilots

Find here a part of the aerial videos produced during the Covid-19 global pandemic, by all our drone operators in France.

All of them have responded to the initiative launched by HOsiHO, the aerial and creative images bank, featuring images of the world seen from above, which on March 16, 2020, launched a call to its 200 authors: as far as health and legal possibilities permit, encouraging UAV pilots to take aerial and ground shots in confined cities.

These images are part of a global project, that of working for the collective memory.

In France and around the world, HOsiHO has gathered aerial and ground images of about sixty cities filmed during the lockdown related to the virus known as Covid-19 or Coronavirus.

The members of our drone network in France, as leading UAV operators, have naturally undertaken to fly over and film the most emblematic places of their city and region, in accordance with the drone rules and the health restrictions of the moment.

All of them were aware that they were working for Memory, for History.  These images, which they made during these unique moments, will remain historical. No one has ever seen so many cities standing still, almost motionless and deserted. It is also a way for the drone pilots to visually thank those who, with their head in the handlebars, could no longer count their city: for example, the caretakers who are exhausted in the hospital, the delivery men, cashiers, postmen, drivers, police forces, ... who did not stop and who allowed the cities to "turn", even in slow motion.

The city of Perpignan filmed during Covid-19 lockdown, by Aero7.

The contrast between the city, which seems to be asleep, in slow motion, and the uninterrupted waltz of trucks on the A9 motorway that runs along the city from north to south, is striking. The trucks seem to have a humanitarian mission of the utmost importance, to supply the confined population for an indefinite period of time. A fiction turned into reality. From this little film emerges the tension and anguish that everyone has felt, at one time or another. Black and white reinforces this oppressive atmosphere.

Aero7 is a drone operator based in Perpignan, and realizes aerial films and services by drone and ground mainly around the french cities of Foix, Collioure, Albi,  Montauban and their surroundings. The drone operator represents the Drone Network, in the south-west of France, in the Occitanie region, in the departments: 66 - Pyrénées-Orientales, 82 - Tarn-et-Garonne, 81 - Tarn, 09 - Ariège  - 46 - Lot

AIRbuzz presents its drone video Paris COVID-19 during the lockdown.

From the Place de l'Étoile to the Concorde through the Champs-Elysées or the Trocadero, the aerial production company filmed using a "cinema" type drone (DJI Inspire 2 with X7 camera) and a traditional camera (GH5 for the ground shots) these 4K images of Paris during the confinement. We discover the capital under a totally new face: very little or no traffic, almost no pedestrians?

These emblematic places of the capital, usually crowded with tourists, seem to be taken from a post-apocalyptic film.

A scenario we hope never to see again.

Beauvais city Lockdown, by D COM DRONESince Tuesday 17 March 2020 at noon, the town of Beauvais, prefecture of the Oise department, has been applying lockdown measures related to the coronavirus epidemic in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 disease throughout the french territory. The Paris-Beauvais airport, which usually serves more than 60 destinations in 20 countries, has suspended its commercial activities. The absolute obligation to keep travel to a minimum leads Beauvaisians to abandon the streets and squares that are usually heavily frequented. This unprecedented situation represented a unique opportunity to film, from the air, the city centre of Beauvais from unusual angles. The last shot of this clip presents the Simone Veil Hospital Center, an emblematic structure of all the places of care in the city and all the nursing staff who are in the front line in this daily fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

Limoges city during the outbreak lockdown, by the audiovisual production company DragonFly-Production : "Once upon a time, there was a planet that was fed up with being mistreated and martyred by its children. It's a rough method, but it's as good as human bullshit."

Madinina Flying Pixelspresents its film on the Covid-19 lived in Martinique. Here the containment due to the Covid-19 epidemic is seen less in the city and on the roads than on the beaches. In March/April, Martinique is usually still in the middle of the tourist season and the beaches are largely stormed from the first hours of the day until night. The sight of these totally deserted beaches in the middle of the day is absolutely unbelievable. No one here, even the oldest ones, has ever seen such a situation in the past. These images are historical and Madnina Flying Pixels is proud to have been able to participate in this national memory effort through the Hosiho drone network.

Lyon city during the covid-19 lockdown, by Olivier Mercier Video.

"I usually does not like the city and finds refuge in the mountains in the company of deer and ibex, found myself surprisingly at ease in this deserted metropolis. Walking around such an empty city with light equipment (Mavic & Alpha 7 III drone) was very exhilarating. Legislation that forbids flying over people does not normally allow to send a drone in the alleys of old Lyon or above the quays, something I would never have thought to do a while ago."

Silence, Marseille Confine... the film! Shot in the heart of the Phoenician city, deserted during the Covid-19 pandemic, and signed by Drone-Pictures  who dedicates this clip to the people who, every day, are on the front line, taking risks to take care of us and make Marseilles run, which even in slow motion, is nevertheless magnificent in many ways. Drone-Pictures has surveyed the city, from the Old Port to the Prado beaches, since the beginning of the confinement, seizing day after day, on the ground and in the air, the empty squares, the abnormally fluid highways, the closed shopping malls, the usually crowded streets and avenues, now almost deserted. Time has stood still, as if suspended.

Normandy and Caen city during the coronavirus lockdown, by ILARA Drone.

April 2020, The Trouville fish market is abandoned by its fishermen and onlookers, the port of Caen is depopulated, the pedestrian streets of Rouen are emptied, the Arromanches museum laments, the beaches of Deauville are covered by sand and devoid of footprints... Normandy fights in silence against an invisible enemy.

Specialized in drone, ground and 360-degree shots, it seemed important to me that ILARA Production be present to freeze these moments in the realization of a striking video on our confined Normandy.

Charente-Maritime and La Rochelle during containment, procuced by l'Atelier du Ciel March 17, 2020, France starts to turn at a standstill. An unknown virus has been hitting mankind for several weeks. For one and only response, containment avoids an extremely rapid and devastating spread. An almost immediate consequence follows for the first time in our developed world. Streets are abandoned, stores are closed, humans are confined to their homes. Silence takes place and visually accompanies an unlikely void. The spectacle is striking, and never seen before.  It was in fact impossible to leave this impression, unique in the history of humanity, without witness. The sky workshop travelled through the department of Charente-Maritime, the department most visited by the French during the holiday period. Although relatively unscathed, it was largely confined and was also deserted.

L'Atelier du Ciel is based near La Rochelle, and produce his aerial films as well in Bordeaux, Roche-sur-Yon, Angers, Niort, Royan and all other cities or villages of the surrounding departments. drone operator and specialist in the wine sector. The Hauts-de-France seen from the sky during Covid-19, directed by LET'S FLY ! [PRODUCTION]     In the midst of Coronavirus at a time when the vast majority of the inhabitants are confined to their homes, a strange and unreal spectacle is offered to us, deserted, calm cities where nature quickly regains its rights. Over the last few days, we have filmed several cities in the Hauts-de-France region in full confinement in order to keep track of this unique and exceptional situation. We hope it will be unique in our lives! This is our way of paying tribute to all the actors who have been contributing for several weeks to the pursuit of an "almost normal" life and to saving our lives.

Bordeaux city during the outbreak lockdown, in april 2020, filmed by SpiritProd33.

As everywhere else in France and around the world, Bordeaux presents us with a strange and unusual face on the occasion of this confinement that will mark the memory of humanity. As if suspended in time, emptied of its inhabitants, a sort of living vestige of a selfishness that we feel at the end of our breath, its images of Bordeaux brutally remind us of what Edgar Morin expressed so well:

"The probable is never certain; often it is the unexpected that happens. »
