Discovering Mont-Saint-Michel

A true jewel of Normandy, Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the most visited tourist sites in France. An essential stopover for pilgrims on the route to Santiago de Compostela, the islet is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is the coastal strip that forms the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit this magnificent place, now is the time to think about it.

The history of Mont-Saint-Michel as you walk along

The history of this place goes back to the Middle Ages and its destiny is closely linked to that of the clergy and the duchy of Normandy. Among the most visited places on the island, we can note the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel and its gothic architecture. At the top of the Abbey, the statue of the Archangel Gabriel rises to a height of 156 m above sea level. It has recently been restored.
